FML! I should've posted this yesterday, but it took me awhile to digest and process the news...again.
I got the fert report Saturday morning and we got the exact same results as last time. Ten eggs retrieved of which 3 are mature of which 1 fertilized and 1 possibly fertilized. How the fuck does this happen twice in a row?! Completely different protocol, completely different doctor/clinic, exact same results? Even if we wanted to duplicate the results, there's no way it would've been this close.
I don't know what to do now. We're going in for our 3 day transfer tomorrow morning. At least we have one embryo, although I'm not sure what the quality is and we may have a second one. We get a chance to talk with Dr. Zed tomorrow before the transfer to discuss the results. I guess we'll ask him the WTF happened.
Do genes matter?

omg, i'm in a bit of shock, so i imagine you're numb right now. it's okay. there's 1, possibly 2, and *fingers crossed like hell* that it's a good quality embie. i'm soooo sorry that you don't have more embies to choose from, but don't lose you faith that this is gonna work. i hate when ppl say "it just takes one" so i'm not gonna say it. instead, i'll just say that it ain't over till the fat lady sings, and you are FAR from there right now. possibly 2 to transfer tomorrow. *please let this be it*. i'll keep repeating this mantra for you today babes. sending big hugs.
So sorry it's the same results. I know that it isn't what you wanted. I hope that you have a good transfer and that one possible two stick.
WTF?! sooz, i'm so sorry you're going through this again. i'm with sienna - i won't say anything cliche but i'll be hoping like hell that you have 2 to transfer tomorrow and that no matter how many make in into your womb, that they (or it) snuggles in real hard. this is supposed to be our turn - you, sienna and me, remember? and you're first! keeping everything crossed, girl. good luck tomorrow. xo. hugs.
oh, im so sorry. a shitty fert report is like a kick in the stomach.
i just found your blog so i have yet to read your story, but i had the same thing happen to me on my second IVF. 7 retrieved, 1 fertilized and it was crap. like i said, i haven't read anything but this post, but i have read that minimal stimulation yeilds better results for women with low ovarian reserve (which i have bc i only have one ovary). and we did min stim on our first IVF and got 5 eggs/5 fert and beautiful twins who were unfortunately only with us for 20 weeks. i will be following from now on and i wish you all the luck.
xoxo

So sorry you got the same results with a totally different protocol. FX'd you get a great quality embie.
I know everyone says this, but it's very true...all you need is 1 good one! Sending all positive vibes your way!
I hope the transfer goes well! Now for the dreaded 2WW. We'll be doing it together. I hope there's great news at the end!
oh sooz...wtf? when do we catch a break?! i'm sorry about this.... i'm really rooting for the 1 (and possibly 2) that all plugging along... thinking of you and sending hugs.
