After waiting by the phone all morning, we finally got the call which was bittersweet.
Of the 9 eggs retrieved, 5 were mature and 4 fertilized with ICSI. The remaining 4 ceased to develop. So, we have 4 embryos with which we'll freeze on Day 5 (if any make it that far), do CCS testing, and then do a FET probably in March.
I'm happy and sad about the numbers. I really wanted more, but at the same time 4 is more than both previous cycles put together. I'm praying that these embryos make it...

i'm betting those 5 mature ones were the biggest ones! yaay for the 4 that fertilized. i totally get your disappointment bc you wanted more, but i'm praying that you get 1-2 healthy babies from this batch. do you find out more information on day 5? fingers, toes, hair, eyes - they are all crossed for you and this cycle :o) hope you're recovering well from retrieval! xoxo.
i only had 5 to biopsy so please please please hold on to hope! this is gonna work! all 4 WILL make it to biopsy day! i'm willing it to be so! c'mon embies! crossing everything for you!
More than both previous cycles put together is great!!

I'm sorry the results were bittersweet, but your right. Four is pretty good and a great chance.
I'm keeping EVERYTHING crossed that all four make it to a day 5 freeze! I understand how dissappointing this can all be. We had 20 retrieved, and only 13 fertilize and 2 make it to day 5. Its true what they say though, it only takes one - I'm 25 wks pregnant now with one of the magical 2. I'm hoping the same for you!!
Sounds great! I am cheering your four on!!!
We always want more than we get, don't we? I'm so glad you are doing the testing. It brings such peace of mind. We work so hard for all this.
Glad this cycle exceeded what you've done before!
